About Me

I'm a software developer and (at certain points) manager, with over a decade and a half of professional experience across various positions in IT and development in everything from small startups to enormous conglomerates and from technical lead on a small team up through CTO managing a department of 50 engineers.

I lived and worked abroad for several years in Jakarta, Indonesia.

In late 2021, I moved back to Pittsburgh, PA with my wife.

I love writing code in Python and C#. Django is my favorite web framework of all time. On the frontend, Angular is my framework of choice -- a preference I occasionally feel self-conscious about, since it seems most of the world (and job postings) seem to think React is the way to go.

As of 2023, I currently reside about 5 minutes north of downtown Pittsburgh, PA with my wife, Venny, and our rescue Shiba, Cinta.

Outside of Work?

I obviously love to travel, and have spent most of my adult life outside the US. I've been to a big chunk of south east Asia, and am always looking to add to the list of places I've been.

When I'm at home, I love to spend as much time as I can outside, even if it's to do yard work but preferably, I love to go on hikes with my dog, camping, and, more recently, going on road trips with my wife.

About this Blog

I'm mostly considering this as a public notebook. This is a place for me to put my thoughts and snippets of information that I'll forget later some place where they'll hopefully benefit myself and maybe a few others along the way.

Anything on this site represents my own opinions, and do not represent those of my employer.
